Seeker wrote 3 months ago beutiful image! just wonder why black and white, and how it looks in colour? Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Thanks you. I wonted to try something else of the photos from the Sardine Run Expedition, I had a hard tinme to select which one to submit the colour version or the b&w. Not sure how to do it, but I think I should be able to link to the colour version, but not sure if I can upload it on OE somewhere hmmm... otherwise I will upload it on my website. Best regards Mikael Seeker replied 3 months ago I had a look at your other photos both on onexposure and your website and think that colour image may be better. Please put it on your website. Thanks Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Seeker My website is updated with the photo, thanks for your involment in my picture. Best regards Mikael Seeker replied 3 months ago Hm.. Now i can see why you hesitated. Both BW and colour are very good. Perhaps a bit more contrast in colour image would make it stronger. In any case I like them both. Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Seeker Thanks, well I will look at them again on another screen and see which one will be best to modify. Best regards Mikael So, so beautiful and magical Mikael, love it! Dolphins comes pretty high on my favorite list, and to see such an image of art like this, is pure joy to me, thank you so much! All the best Anne Lene Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Anne Lene Thank you so much for the nice words. Best regards Mikael Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Mal Well I am not sure if I am or not:-), what I know is that I really love the ocean and that we need to take care of it, it is our life. I am glad you like it, and thanks to additing it to your favourites. All the best Mikael Dare Turnsek wrote 3 months ago Superb moment again ... and excellent choise for b/w dramatic edition ;) Tom Hoops wrote 3 months ago Stunning . Would love to do some underwater stuff but I don't think I have the patience for it. Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Tom You should, it is just amazing, and it well worth the waiting :-) Best regards Mikael Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Tom Thanks, and yes it is worth waiting for. Soo hope to see you under the water :-) Best regards Mikael Lars Grepstad wrote 3 months ago Yeah! As mentioned by others, maybe we should publish more UW in black&white? This one worked well (would probably do in colors as well). The composition is excellent, with the circle of sardines around the dolphins. And I like the cut on top too. Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Lars Thanks for your nice words, I really appreciate it. I agree we should try to get some more B&W UW published on OE, perhaps you should try the Threser Shark one in B&W? Best regards Mikael Lars Grepstad replied 3 months ago Mikael, Could be an idea to run some of my sharks in B&W, yes I will. My problem is time.. Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Ulf Thanks a lot for your nice words, it looks great in colour also, but wonted to try a B&W here on OE and it worked out well. Will try some more from the Sardine Run before I put it on side. Best regards Mikael chris cox wrote 3 months ago This is such an inspiring picture. Black and white was a great choice, too. There are so many beautiful underwater pictures, but the blue ocean water makes even the best color pics feel a little more ordianary. I love the oval, encircling quality formed by the fish . The symbiosis between the creatures is playful and alive! At first glance, it felt as if I was viewing a symbol. Like a peace sign. Perhaps a symbol that says, "Hey Humans. Relax." Anyway, great work. Thanks for showing! Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Chris Thanks for your nice words, I really appreciate it. And yes perhaps that is what they are telling us. Best regards Mikael Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Carola Thank you for your nice words, I really appreciate it. Best regards Mikael Erwan wrote 3 months ago It is a great idea to show this kind of photo in BW. It adds an eerie feeling, a dreamlike feeling to the photo. gerard sexton wrote 3 months ago wow! how beautiful. and yes unusual to see in bnw but hey it really works well. Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Gerard Thanks for your nice words, I really appreciate it. B&W underwater photos can give a different impact then a colour version, so I will try some others in B&W. Best regards Mikael Codrin Lupei wrote 3 months ago Hey Mikael, b&w underwater :-)...looks great! A beautiful image, love it! all the best Codrin Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Hi Codrin Well I needed to try some thing new on OE and hope the visitors will like it (it actually looks really good in colour also), but I am sure this can be improved more with your skills of B&W, any direct thoughts how to improve it? Best regards Mikael Codrin Lupei replied 3 months ago :-) Mikael, I actually hate the pp work, ussually I've done with an image in minutes, you know...blur, grain, vignette, contrast adjustments and that's it! I really don't know if blur or grain will help in your images :-), probably not! Just keep them comin'! Excellent work, congrats! all the best Codrin Mikael Jigmo replied 3 months ago Codrin Ok I am not sure either if it works, but will play around with some. I probably need to work on some other pictures then the once I have from Sardine Run (afraid that people get tiered and wont approve them anymore at OE) All the best Mikael |
